Glitch effect

I have created a glitch effect to lay over the top of the production company in which we have chosen. I will use an image of the YouTube logo to show the modern out take we are using for our trailer as this subverts the common representation of the horror genre. I will use the YouTube logo to show the connection between small details in the trailer/ website and poster.

First I downloaded the ‘Twisted Pictures production company’ video and placed it in to our trailer, I placed it earlier on within the trailer as this is a common convention in teaser trailers as it attracts the audiences that follow and enjoy their work.

I then cut the production company several times using the blade tool and removed very small sections of the video. At each ends of the cut sections I included a glitches effect from the final cut pro. It helps to distort the video and creates a more professional effect.

I then places short sections of the image of the YouTube logo in to the cut sections to make it appear as if the logo was breaking through the video. I didn’t want the logo to appear for long so I made the image as short as possible. The final product was effective once I had included the sound effects, such as the static sound. I found the sound on YouTube and downloaded it on to the computer, I then cropped the sound to the section I wanted and placed that on each of the glitches sections. I did this as I wanted to keep the continuity throughout the video.
