Website Ideas (PICTURE PLEASE)

For our trailer we are incorporating the idea that social media has manipulated people minds, violence is becoming a more common aspect in everyday life. With the development of technology it has become incredibly easy for people to share videos worldwide. This is a concept that we have developed for our teaser trailer and something we want to portray into our website.

Website Idea

As shown bellow is the paper draft of the website that we created. In order to convey the idea of social media we chose to base our design off of the official YouTube website. This is what inspired me to develop our website.

The Design

We wanted the teaser trailer to play automatically as the viewer opens the website and we had it positioned in the centre of the website. We chose to design the site like this as it is an identifiable aspect of the YouTube design with the video taking up majority of the website at the top. Bellow the video we will have the title of the film, we will ensure to have the text larger and very obvious so that the audience is able to identify that it is the title. In the original design we included the words "coming soon" next to the title. However we chose to change this in the final website so we would be able to make the title as large as possible with no added distraction. There is a comments section bellow the video we came to the conclusion that we could use this to show the reviews from different people. I will use the same style from YouTube, identifying the reviewer with the blue text.

User Friendly

• We chose to have the column down the right side displaying the buttons for different areas on the website for people to gain more information on the film. In our original drawing we only included the 'home, the film, cast and crew and a gallery' button for our audience to discover new aspects to the film. We will ensure that the buttons are large and obvious for the audience to select, incorporating relevant images to help present the different areas. 
• Social media sites have been included in our design at the bottom for the user to be able to locate to different sites. It would also help promote the film as people would have the ability to 'share' and 'tweet' about the new film. Not only this, it allows people to be connected to others who are also interested in the film.
• Our website will all be located on one single tab instead of opening multiple tabs and possibly confusing the user. When researching different websites the several tabs that opened at one time became confusing and too much information.
• The user will not have to scroll down the page for more information as it will all be located on one single screen. This allows the viewer to see everything as soon as the page opens.
• Finally the video plays automatically making it easier for the viewer as they do not have to manually play the video. It also allows the user to pause the video at anytime.
