Deconstruction of Reviews and Ratings on Websites

On our website we plan to put some reviews and ratings so to get an idea of what people say when reviewing a film I decided to look at some different websites.

'Cabin In The Woods'
This website included about 7 different reviews from people working for different companies such as MTV news. In addition to this they had some comments/reviews in the corner of the website written by fans on social media websites.

Examples:

'Where The Wild Things Are'
This website also contains about 7 different reviews. Most of the reviews come from well known companies such as Fox-Tv. The comments are all short and brief and do not give anything away about the plot of the movie. All the comments are positive and encourage people to go and watch the full film.

Examples:

'Mad Max: Fury Road'
This website also has a few comments that are put on loop. However, these reviews are only one or two words long and are also written by people working for well known companies.

Evaluation

• The reviews are short
• The name of the company and the reviewer is written below the review in smaller text
• Around 5-10 reviews are put on loop
• All the reviews are positive to entice people into watching the film
