Filming Script: Kidnapped Victim Reshoot & Poster Photo-shoot

Once construction and editing began to unfold for our trailer, we held a focus group with volunteers from our target market. During this session, it was concluded that the scene in which the victim is dragged back into the darkness when the killer captures her would need to be re-shot as the hands used in the scene were not "harsh" enough to reflect a dominant and vicious killer. For this reason, we arranged to meet with our male actor once again to re-shoot the scene.

Day 4: Dark Room Re-Shoot and Poster Photo-shoot

Location:

Invicta Grammar School, Huntsman Lane, Maidstone, ME14 5DS

Date:

Thursday 28th January

Meeting Point:

Kelsey, Bethany and Hazel will be attending school on the Thursday, along with a substitute male actor (Samuel Bartholomew), whereby all have been notified to meet at the School's dark room at lunchtime (1:30 pm). Permission for the use of the photography room will be pre-arranged with the photography teacher by Bethany.

Props:

Bethany: Bethany will bring the memory cards ready for filming along with a fake camera to be used in the poster photo-shoot. A slot in which to use the darkroom will also be organised prior to the shoot by Bethany.

Kelsey: I will bring the camera to be used for the footage, a change of clothes and a mobile phone to use as a torch.

Hazel: Hazel has been instructed to bring a tripod.

Extras:

A slot to use the photography dark room will be pre-arranged by Bethany before filming commences. Also, the substitute actor (Samuel) will be shown the storyboard and existing footage prior to the meeting to allow for more efficient time usage as he will already be aware of what needs to take place.

What will be shot?

A re-shoot of the clip from the trailer whereby the victim is seen standing in a dark hallway hiding from the killer , in which he then pulls her back into the darkness out of sight from the audience. We will also take the images to be used for the film promotional poster, which consists of a close-up of the killer's face behind a camera.

Total Time:

The filming of these clips should take no longer than the lunch hour provided, ideally around 40 minutes.

Finish time = 2:10

All parties, including Bethany, Hazel, Kelsey and Jack (Actor) will meet at Kelsey’s house at 2pm Saturday afternoon on the 14th November 2015.

Props:

Bethany: Bethany will bring the camera and memory cards ready for filming. She will also be bringing the chair which shall be used for the majority of the trailer, a selection of tools and a small fold up table as she has these possessions in her grandparents’ house, a short car journey from my house where she will be dropped off.

Kelsey: As well as acting in the trailer and hosting the recording session in my communal bin shed, I am going to bring some more tools to be used for the torture table and the camera tripod necessary for filming, along with make-up and fake blood.

Hazel: Hazel will be bringing the killer’s target pin board prop and more torture items to be used as background props.

Extras:

The main actor, Jack Dickinson, will be meeting at my house at 13:00 on the Saturday also. He will be wearing dark clothes and boots to enable us to effectively conceal his identity. The narrative of the storyboard and what he will need to do has already been re-arranged between the group and himself via SMS text so that everyone is clear on what needs doing to enable for efficient time management.

What will be shot?

The majority of the shots from the storyboard will be filmed on this date, including:
  • All torture scenes.

  • The clip whereby the killer is seen to be walking over broken glass.
  • Photos of the location and filming processes will also be taken throughout the session.

Hazel has other commitments from 4pm, where she shall be picked up from my house so all filming should be completed by this time. If additional shots are required, Jack, Bethany and I are able to stay longer to complete this if necessary.

Filming Script: Day 1

Day 1: Wickes

Location:

Wickes, St. Peter Street, Maidstone, Kent, ME16 0SN

Meeting Point:

Kelsey, Bethany, substitute actor John Burr and Hazel will all meet at the Maidstone Wickes Branch, St. Peter Street, at 8pm on Thursday 12th November. All will then meet with the shift manager inside the premises at 8:15pm and filming will commence.

Props:

Bethany: Bethany will bring the camera and memory cards ready for filming.

Kelsey: I will bring a change of clothes to act as a faux uniform, including a name badge, to create the illusion that I am a Wickes employee, for the purpose of the footage.

Hazel: Hazel is going to bring the tripod to be used for steady-cam filming.

Wickes: Wickes have allowed us to use their branch for our location, and also allowed us to use rope and wire etc., for the serial killer to hold whilst walking down one of the store aisles. Additionally, they have given us permission to use one of the tills to make it look as though an authentic transaction is taking place on camera.

Extras:

My step-dad, John Burr, has agreed to partake during the filming for today as the real actor was unavailable for the scheduled date. John will meet us at the required destination for 8pm also. As requested, he will wear dark clothing, such as dark boots, to fit in with the character profile. Over-the-shoulder shots and long shots will be used in attempt to take the focus away from John’s face as he is substantially older than the official actor.

What will be shot?

A total of 3 miniature scenes will be filmed on this day in this location:
  • The scene in the trailer whereby we see the killer walking down an aisle carrying rope, tape or wire.
  • A clip of the killer standing at the checkout and myself (Kelsey, protagonist) scanning the items.
  • The end clip of the trailer, whereby the cashier announces the total the products amounted to. A voice-over of this dialogue will be re-recorded on a different day using better quality sound instruments.

Total Time:

The filming of these clips should take no longer than half an hour.

Finish time = 8:45pm.
