Storyboard Todorov's theory (PICTURE PLEASE)
When creating our story board we took in to
consideration Todorov’s theory of narrative. His theory states that each
narrative follows the same order through five simple stages.
- The first being the equilibrium, this is the section in the narrative that everything is calm and there are no problems. We conveyed this through our trailer with having the victim working behind the counter unaware of what will happen to her.[PICTURE]
- The disruption of the equilibrium would be shown through the over the shoulder shot of the antagonist looking down at the victim before the torture scenes. During this time the victim is still unaware of what is going to happen to her in the not so distant future.[PICTURE]
- The third step in the theory is the recognition of the disruption. During this scene we had a point of view shot from the victim’s perspective looking up towards the villain as he prepares. During this sequence we will use heavy breathing sounds and have the eyes of the victim open and close through the use of effects.[PICTURE]
- The fourth section is what we kept hidden from the audience as we did not want to provide the entire narrative and ultimately informing the audience the entire plot to the film. We did this in order to create an enigma and to entertain the audience into wanting to see what happens to the victim in her situation creating questions like, does she live? How did she escape?
- For the new equilibrium we returned back to the beginning of the story with the victim unaware giving the price of the objects he wishes to buy. This also creates a form of dramatic irony with the audience knowing what is going to happen while the victim is still oblivious to her surroundings and the danger that is present. We do not give a 'new' equilibrium as it could give away the narrative, removing the curiosity about her survival or death at the end of the film.

Target Audience Deconstruction
To ensure that our teaser trailer and film appeals to our target market and audience, we can use
reviews from existing horror movies to get an idea of which films are
successful and see what makes the successful. I looked at the reviews on the popular critic website IMDb looking at horror films.
Saw Franchise
Saw is a poplar film franchise that has created multiple films under the same name, it is a slasher horror film and therefore is related to the sub-genre that we chose for our teaser trailer.
The films collecively grossed $873 million at the boxoffice wordwide. Making it one of the largest franchises and a very popular horror film.
This image is from the IMDb website looking at the first Saw film with 285,914 users rating the film through the site. The average out of 10 is 7.7 showing its popularity with such as vast audience.
We will encourperate some of the common codes and conventions from the Saw franchise, for example the torture, gore and enigma surrounding who the killer is. I will do this as they have a similar target audience as we want to attrack.
Hatchet (2006)
Hatchet is not as popular as the Saw franchise, however the film did earn three films in its name, this is a slasher and gore film once again relating to our genre choice. The first films grossing came to $7,109,436.
Once again I have included the rating people have given the film on IMDb, however there was only 22,740 people who chose to rate this film with an average of 5.7. This supports the idea that it is not as popular as the previous film. This could be due to them releasing information on the killer before the film was release removing the mystery and tension from the prommotion.
Mise-en-scene
When filming our teaser we had to take into consideration the mise-en-scene that we would need. We research the conventions of a gore/ slasher film and what props are commonly used within the film and trailers. The props are extremely important as the help inform the audience what the genre is as gives them an insight into what they are about to watch. I have placed the props that we used under three categories:
Torture equipment
One of the main priority's when planing we had to ensure we used the correct equipment to convey the idea that this will be a slasher with gore. Therefore we had to use objects with connotations of pain, danger and fear. Not only this, these objects were most commonly seen across the genre when completing our research.
Saw

- We chose to include the saw as this is one of the most common pieces of equipment that is seen across the genre. In films it is used for cutting bone and creating deeper wounds.
- I had the idea of using a saw from the Saw franchise. One of the scenes show people trying to survive by cutting off limbs.
- The sound that is used with this tool also conforms to the genre as it is an easily identifiable sound . When used in a horror film it increases the 'fear factor' as this is something that many people have it their household and would not be considered difficult to obtain. This creates a sense of reality for the film and intensifies the fear.
Mallet

- I also incorporated the mallet, it is a large powerfully tool and is extremely heavy. I gave this to the actor who plays the antagonist as it portrays the character as powerful.
- The use of the mallet as a weapon is truly terrifying, although it is not commonly used in horror films, it could be useful for its destructive properties. The audience can only imagine the excruciating pain of being hit with a large and undeniably heavy hammer.
Pliers

- This is a more delicate and small tool that contrast the the previous images I have shown. The pliers however though small can create lasting pain.
- During our planning and filming sessions we used the pliers to 'break' the fingers of our victim. We shot this sequence several times to ensure it look affective.
- When we placed the footage into Final Cut Pro I wanted to use a bone cracking sound as he twists the finger round. This appeared to work very effectively after receiving audience feedback it was shown to be one of the more popular scenes in the trailer as it cause the effect of disgust and fear in the audience.
- We also considered using the pliers for pulling off the victims nails as it is a smaller tool. We had practised however the scene would had been too slow for the pace we wanted to create in our trailer.
Rope

- The rope was extremely important in our filming, we had considered the use of zip ties however we came to the conclusion that rope would cannote a dark and sinister situation.
- When we filmed the rope scenes I made sure to tie the rope as tight as possible, this was not to harm the actor, but to make the situation more believable. We also included fake blood around her wrists to convey the idea that she had been trying to escape.
- Rope is seen throughout all horror genres, mainly gore and possession films. We wanted to follow these conventions with the incorperation of the rope as we regularlly subvert the conversions as our teaser trailer is a modern consept.
Small axe
- The small axe / hatchet is once again a convention of slasher horrors and therefore we chose to use this in our trailer. We did research and found a slasher film named "Hatchet" witht the killer using this as their main weapon.
- Much like the mallet it was for background prop purposes only. It also shows the user as a strong indervidual and places them in a powerful possition.
Extra Deatail
Detroyed Chair- When researching it came to my attention that the chair is usually destroyed from the victim trying to escape the situation. We wanted to include this small detail into our trailer and therefore we had an old chair and destroyed it with different tools.
- Some of the examples in films appeared very clinical and metal, however due to being a student with a restriction on what we could use. Although for our genre I believe that this style of chair was very effective.
Plaster table

- The prop of the table was very problematic as we needed something that could be easily transported and could fit in a reasonably large gap. Therefore we came to the conclusion that a plaster table would be usefiul for this situation.
- When torture is shown within films they commonly have close ups of the villain with their back to the victim looking at the table with their tools layed out. This was an important factor as we wanted to properly pressent the tools instead of leaving them scattered on the floor. I also conveys that the killer is a methodical thinker conveying him as dangerious.
Pin Board
- Finally for this section we also have the pin board demonstraighting his line of thought and how it developed to this situation. The pin board also supports the idea that he is a methodical thinker with a reason for their actions. I also suggests that he has been watching the victim from a young age due to the younger photos of the victim. This increases the fear in the audience as it suggests he has been planning for a long period of time.
Make-up
Darker colours
- We used these darker colours for the bruises and the cuts on the victim. We used this for the bruise eye and cuts allong her face for the close up images of her face. The makeup is very important as it makes the situation believable as if she was actually being harmed by the killer.
- We also used the greans and blacks to discolour the gag to make it appear dirty and used. This shows that he has had previous victims, this is shown within all films that use the prop of a gag for the vimtims in order to keep them quiet.
Fake blood

- Finally there is the fake blood that we used multiple times in the photoshoot. This prop was to convey the gore aspect of the film as we do not have acess to complicated consmetics we had to relie on the fake blood to bring in the gore aspect.
- Its uses consist of blood dripping off her hands, making the cuts appear fresh with fake blood and the victim spitting out blood.

Poster Image Creation
Photo-shoot
- I used the lighting studio in order to take the image as I wanted to ensure that I there was only a dark and plain background for the image. The dark backgrounds are common conventions of horror posters as it reduces the light in the images. I also used the plain background in order to remove distraction from the main focus of the image which is the killer and the camera lens.
- The lights that are supplied were used from different angles to cast shadows across the villain and create darker areas to obscure the audiences view of the killer. When taking the image I took multiple different ways of holding the light including above, bellow and from a side angle of the killer. The lighting was used to help create an enigma into who the villain is and what they look like.
- The image of the antagonist is further distorted through the use of aperture, allowing me to focus on the lens that is closest to the camera and blurring the person in the background. Once again I took different images with his camera facing different ways, however in our final image I used the image of the lens facing directly at the camera as it will allow me to edit the image further in photoshop.
Editing
- Once I had chosen the image I wanted for the final piece I dragged the image into photoshop to edit and manipulate further. Firstly I edited the levels increasing the shadows and deepening the highlights to make the image appear darker and more dramatic. Not only this, I also removed the product name from the camera to remove any distraction as it was bright white text in the centre of the image.
- I then cropped a small amount of the image from the top. This allows me to re-frame the image and select the section in which I want to keep and develop further. I selected the burn tool and 'burnt' around the camera, this effect darkens the areas making it more difficult to see the antagonist in the back of the image. I also used the blurring tool to further distort the image and make the culprit incredibly difficult to see in comparison to the un-edited image.
- Once I had finished this I duplicated the layer in order to have two of the same image layering over one another. On the top layer I selected the lasso select tool and outlined around the inside of the lens. I then used the rubber to remove this section.
- I then completed the same process again with the duplicated layer, however this time I inverted the selected area and removed majority of the image leaving only the lens.
- Next I dragged in the image of the victim in to the poster and placed it below the layer with the hole in the lens. I then places the layer with the lens above this image and reduced it opacity. In doing so it created the effect that she appeared in a reflection in the lens. Creating the final image:
Website Buttons
We created our own buttons to place on to the website down the right side of the site. These will resemble the recommended buttons that usually send different links to other videos that they viewer might also like to see.
- Firstly I took close up images of the recommended for you text bellow the name of the image, however this is the only section that I will be able to retrieve off of YouTube. After selecting these areas I placed them into a new image on Photoshop and used the text tool to create the titles of the videos. We will have links to home, gallery, film and plot, behind the scenes and meet the crew. We selected these names as they were commonly seen on websites that fall under the horror genre.
- Finally I had to add the images to create the ‘thumb nail’ of the video and link. I selected images that would refer to the section that they want to go to, for example for the home page I included an image of an abandoned house. When making the buttons I had to make them individually in order to place them onto the Wix website creation service that we are using for our project.
These were the final results for the buttons:

Practical Poster layout
When creating the poster layout we had to be very specific as to where we placed the information. In order to obtain the idyllic poster we completed a lot of research that we used to style and design our poster. We wanted to conform and subvert to certain conventions depending if they followed our genre.
- Firstly we took into consideration the image for the poster, we took a series of images for our final photo shoot. We experimented with multiple angles to change the lighting, I took images from lower angles and straight on. I took the lower angled images to convey the idea of inferiority as the antagonist would be seen in a higher position. I also looked into the different effects that I could create through framing. The lens will be the main focus point of the image once I have completed the poster in photoshop, this was something I had to take in to consideration as I did not want the lens to be perfectly centred within the image. I used the rule of thirds principle, the eye naturally rests on the top left of an image and slowly follows lines in a 'z' shaped form. Therefore I slightly places the lens of the camera to the right of the image, forcing the audience to look at other details other than the centre.
- Once I had taken the image the location for the title was my next main priority as it is the main aspect in promotion, the common conventions demonstrated that the title is usually located at the top or in the lower half of the image. When looking at our own image we came to the conclusion that the title will most likely have to be bellow the camera lens, this helps to draw the audiences attention down towards the lower half of the poster. Not only this we included a tag line, this was placed on the far right of the image bellow the title, the text is considerably smaller to the title. However this is to help intrigue the audience and to give a small amount of information to the viewer. The tag line "smile for the camera" is also a small form of comedy for the antagonist and shows the he is recording his victims.
- For the billings block we placed it at the bottom centre of the image as this is one of the main conventions of posters that is seen across all genres and is not specific to the slasher horror. We made the text white so that it would be visible to the audience on the dark background, although we didn't want the block of text to be predominant on the poster, Therefore while I was placing the text at the bottom I reduced the size of the text to be as small as possible, not to mention that I changed the opacity slightly to make the text appear less obvious. Though it was a small alteration we noticed this technique to be used in other horror posters to keep the focus on the main subject. Originally we placed the production company details bellow the text. Due to this the text was pushed higher up on the image and therefore covering the poster, after considering different ways in which we could alter this we moved the billings block down and reduced the size of the production companies. In doing this it allowed us to place the images either side of the text.
This is the final product:
Practical Recording (PICTURE PLEASE)
Our teaser trailer includes some dialogue towards the end of the trailer with the victim saying "That will be £10.65 then please". When originally filming this section we wanted to use the sound from the video. We believed it would work well as we were allowed to film after closing time with no one else in the warehouse. However we had issues with the camera picking up the sound as the camera was kept further away from the actor due to the shot being an over the shoulder shot. Due to this we had to completely remove this speech although we were adamant to keep this scene.
The Software
- We used the software that was offered to us in order to create the speech after the filming had been completed, we would then layer the sound over the top of the video to create the appearance that we caught her speaking in the shop instead of behind the scenes.
- Final Cut Pro allows the user to record sound straight on to the system while also saving previously recorded sounds. It also allows the user to edit and distort the sound for their liking. As we know the system as I have used its interface for the past two years we chose to record directly onto the video.
[PICTURE]
How we did it
- During the recording we ensured that the room was empty with only myself and the actress who was being the voice actor. As students we did not have access to professional hardware and could not obtain a microphone for our recording. We improvised with the use of a microphone that is attached to headphones, this allowed us to get clear sound instead of speaking unnecessarily loud for the distant microphone on the computer to pick up the sound.
- The system offered a countdown and played the video on screen as the actor spoke. This allowed her to say the phrase in the same pace as she did in the video. Through doing this it did not require much editing, however we did take multiple versions of the reading to ensure we had the best possible quality for the video as we wanted it to be as realistic as possible.
- Once the sound was placed we reduced the sound so she wasn't as loud as it originally sounded. By doing this it made the dietetic sound appear as if it was not recorded separately from the video itself.

Research Typography
Frontier(s)
The colour of the text is white, this is a common convention of older horror films and it has carried on into the modern design of the slasher horror film genre. Not to mention the inclusion of the red 's' at the end of the name, this colour suggests blood and death. Once again the use of these colours are shown together, they convey the idea of purity and innocence being destroyed and ultimately dying. The colours of the text alone state that the genre of the film will be in the horror genre.
- The style follows the common conventions of slasher typography, looking in to the history you are able to identify that the font is bold and widely spaced. Another convention that you do not see within this text is a cut through the letters. However in this image you are able to see the small detail of the text deteriorating and falling apart. This follows the idea that the plot in the film will do the same, likely following Todorovs narrative theory.
- The titles text is san-serif while the "what are your boundaries..." is seen with the serif font type. This could be linked to the era in which the film is set as the use of serif text is commonly seen with older films and plots that have the story set in the past.
- Another aspect that is seen with horror film is that the text is usually written in capitals. This helps the tittle to stand out and appear bold on the image. Not only this, it also suggests to the audience that it is going to be exciting, possibly with action as it appears to be exclamatory without the exclamation marks.
The Collector
- Once again the colour of the text is white portraying the idea that the victim is pure. It also helps the text stand out on the black background of the image behind it. While the text in red is difficult to read as it is a darker colour on the black background. However the colour use demonstrates that the company has chosen to follow the conventions of horror films. The colour scheme is continuous throughout the image without a range of multiple colours that would be seen in romantic comedy texts.
- The style of the typography is frequently seen in the slasher genre as it appears to have a thin slash cutting through the text. This makes the genre obvious to the audience as it includes a literal slash. It is bold and dominates a large amount of the image at the bottom with the billings block only using a miniscule amount. They have also used a layering style with the colours of the text, having a pattern of white and red.
- This specific example does not use the serif font, this could be due to the period in which the film is set. When looking at the poster as a whole you are able to see a modern house (possibly representing the American dream). This could suggest that the plot is set in modern day making the film relatable to the audience and increasing the fear factor of the film.
- In this image the text is written in capital letters again highlighting the main text and making it obvious the title of 'The Collector'. The use of capital letters is also used for "He always takes one" at the top of the poster. This text is also clearly visible for the audience to see and gives a small insight at to what may happen in the film while also creating an enigma as to who he takes and possibly why.
The Hills Have Eyes
- The style is subverted in this image with the use of black text instead of the white text that is generally used for a horror film. However the background is lighter in comparison to previous posters and therefore it would not have been practical to use a light colour as the audience would not be able to see it. Although it includes a slight hint of red in the typography suggesting that this will be a horror film and has the same aspects of a slasher film. The text also appears to be further distorted with a blurred effect along the bottom. This could be suggesting something about the plot, not to mention that a blur is due to a defect with the eye and therefore could be referring to the title of the film.
- The style of the typography also appears to be subverting the conventions of horror genres with the use of thinner text.
- Serif is used in this style of text possibly suggesting that the plot is set in a different time period. Serif text is a regularly seen in possession films and therefore the designer could be hinting at possible aspects of the film including possession.
- The use of "the lucky ones die first" help to highlight to death and possible torture aspects of the film. While the name of the title could also help create enigma in to the developing story of the film.

Website creation background (IMAGES PLEASE)
In creating the website I used the YouTube layout as my
inspiration. In our trailer we have strong links back to sites such as YouTube
that allow people to share videos worldwide, the website is linked through the
use of the logo in the teaser trailer. I wanted aspects to be shown throughout
the entire project as a form of continuity between the trailer and the website.
- Firstly I researched the YouTube layout and documented different features of the site, such as the suggested links and the comments. I wanted to manipulate these sections to be used as a website that is easy to use for a wide audience. Once an initial plan was drawn I used the software of Photoshop to help me create a new website. I took a screen shot of the website to help me scale out the background.
- Secondly I used the select tool to select the areas that I wanted to make plain in order to remove the unnecessarily information. These areas will be used for own information such as buttons, reviews and the production company. I then ensured to make the search bar larger through using the select tool and using the free transform option given on the system. This allows me to manipulate the image in to different sizes to fit my preference. When editing this section I had to hold down the shift key to make sure that the image didn’t become overly distorted and stretched.
- I had to further edit the background by extending certain areas and reducing the size of the video size. I used the stamping tool to select a certain area and copy it across several sections to ensure that the colour were the same with no darker or lighter sections.
- Next I had to create the reviews for the comment section of the website, in order to do this I wanted to ensure that the style of the text will conform to the usual and popular text seen on the original website. To do this I wanted to take screen shots of the comments that I will create on Youtube so that it followed the perfect style. I did this because it was difficult to recreate the correct typography for the comments in Photoshop as they didn't have a similar text style. I used the google accounts to change the names to have the reviewers name appear in blue to identify that they are the speaker while having their review as the comment under the video. Once I had created all the comments I took extreme close up screen shots of the comments to be able to manipulate them further in photoshop as the original image would have a high amount of pixels reducing the possibility of the images becoming pixelated. Once I had the comments on photoshop I reduced the size of the image to fit the border I created before hand.
- Once I had completed the comment area I needed to make the production company bellow the video to identify that KABmedia was the creator of the film/ teaser trailer. I included the 'profile picture' of the KM with the name next to the image presenting the full name. Again I wanted to use the correct typography to ensure the continuity across the website, therefore I changed the name of our Youtube page to KABmedia and took another extreme close up of the title. After reducing the size in photoshop I was able to layer the name over the top of the background and next to the KM image to present our production company.
- Finally I wanted to make the website easily linked to the original Youtube site. I went on to a popular YouTubers channel in order to get the like and dislike bar as they had a high quantity of people liking the video. I chose to use a popular channel to convey the idea that our own film/ teaser trailer would be popular. It was placed bellow the video on our website and to the right of the production company.

Poster deconstruction
Saw poster
- This is the poster for the Saw franchise, it has very little detail with a white and clinical background while along the top there is the jaggered edge of a saw which helps symbolise the name and conveys the genre.
- The genre is clear through the image alone with the severed leg that has become discoloured and dirty over time, Not to mention the blood and the bone at the far end of the image. The red suggests death and shows the litteral image of blood.
- The title has the same typography throughout the entire frnachise as it has become memorable and is easily related back to the series of films. It is a dark colour on a white bacground to make it stand out further and follows common conventions of film posters with the title being large and clear for the audience to read at a distance.
- Billings block at the bottom is faded as it is not the most important information given on the poster, it gives more detail in to the actors, production companies and makers of the film. However people who are more interested would look at this section to find out more information.
Raw Cut poster
- The Raw Cut poster is almost an opposite to the preious Saw poster, it has darker colours drawing the main focus onto, what is most likely, the victim in the refelction in the knife. They have a use of white, portraying the innocents of the victim, that has been distorted and splattered with a blood effect. while the second is completely red text suggesting death and blood.
- The image is of a knife with the reflection of the victim appearing affraid, they would have used digital technology such as photoshop to create this image as it would have been impossible to capture a clear reflection. This is something we will take in to consideration when creating our own poster. The background is dark and scratched with white marks, it could reseble a working surface, however the dark colours help to highlight the main image and texts.
- The text is futher distorted with the appearance of a cut through the text, this shows that it is also a slasher film clearly stated through the use of mise-en-scene and typography.
- The billings block at the bottom is very small and does not take up much of the image, it contrains extra information on the production company and creators. Another aspect of the billing block is the colour, they have used the same blue as the knife to reduce distracting the audience and to link with the image.
- At the top there is additional information about the actors involved, this shows that the actors are considered a main selling point of the film and they want to use that to the fullest potential.
Slasher poster
- This is the Slasher poster, once again there is the use of darker colours with the addition of red and blue. This appears to be common in slasher film posters and will be something we need to take into consideration.
- The image shows a figure with their back against the camera creating enigma in order to intrigue the audience. Not only this, the mise-en-scene in the image shows the antagonist holding a knife and some rope, these two items help the audience to identify that this is a slasher/ gore horror film. In the background you are able to see the house that the victim may live, this could be identifie through the change in colours as yellows are used. This colour usually suggests happiness and light, however in this image it conveys the idea that the happiness will be taken over.
- Simular to Raw Cuts poster the typography also has a slash through the centre of the text, this is the litteral portayal of a slasher horror film. Just bellow the slash there is blood, this conveys the idea of cut skin and death, once again the main conventions of the slasher/ gore genre. The text itself is white, this could show the purity and innocents of the victim before the killer arrived.
- Billings block is once again place in the centre at the bottom of the poster, the text is extremily small and very difficult to read. However this follows common conventions of billings blocks on posters.

Website Ideas (PICTURE PLEASE)
For our trailer we are incorporating the idea that social media has manipulated people minds, violence is becoming a more common aspect in everyday life. With the development of technology it has become incredibly easy for people to share videos worldwide. This is a concept that we have developed for our teaser trailer and something we want to portray into our website.
Website Idea
As shown bellow is the paper draft of the website that we created. In order to convey the idea of social media we chose to base our design off of the official YouTube website. This is what inspired me to develop our website.
[PICTURE]
The Design
We wanted the teaser trailer to play automatically as the viewer opens the website and we had it positioned in the centre of the website. We chose to design the site like this as it is an identifiable aspect of the YouTube design with the video taking up majority of the website at the top. Bellow the video we will have the title of the film, we will ensure to have the text larger and very obvious so that the audience is able to identify that it is the title. In the original design we included the words "coming soon" next to the title. However we chose to change this in the final website so we would be able to make the title as large as possible with no added distraction. There is a comments section bellow the video we came to the conclusion that we could use this to show the reviews from different people. I will use the same style from YouTube, identifying the reviewer with the blue text.
User Friendly
- We chose to have the column down the right side displaying the buttons for different areas on the website for people to gain more information on the film. In our original drawing we only included the 'home, the film, cast and crew and a gallery' button for our audience to discover new aspects to the film. We will ensure that the buttons are large and obvious for the audience to select, incorporating relevant images to help present the different areas.
- Social media sites have been included in our design at the bottom for the user to be able to locate to different sites. It would also help promote the film as people would have the ability to 'share' and 'tweet' about the new film. Not only this, it allows people to be connected to others who are also interested in the film.
- Our website will all be located on one single tab instead of opening multiple tabs and possibly confusing the user. When researching different websites the several tabs that opened at one time became confusing and too much information.
- The user will not have to scroll down the page for more information as it will all be located on one single screen. This allows the viewer to see everything as soon as the page opens.
- Finally the video plays automatically making it easier for the viewer as they do not have to manually play the video. It also allows the user to pause the video at anytime.

Lighting in filming
During the scene in which the villain pulls the female victim in to the darkness we had to consider the lighting that we wanted in this situation, We wanted to have the light specifically located on the female victim so the audience can not see behind/ around her. This creates a more issolated feeling and helps to produce an egnigma for the audience within the trailer.
When creating the lighting we experimented with different studio lighting equipment, we used barn doors to choose the section in which we wanted to light up and blocked the light traveling past the model. However when doing this the light was too bright and did not convey the cold and mysterious mood in which we wanted to create.
![]() |
| These are the barn doors that we used to practic making the correct effect. |
After this we experimented with the soft box to dim the light and placed it just bellow the villain so that the light only faced up and didnt show the background. This wasnt very effective as the light was still too bright and you were able to clearly see the antagonist in the back of the shot. However it did create the right colour lighting that we wanted as it creates a soft tone and lighted the victims face clearly.
